Over 905,000 Potential Divers Reached by Media Coverage of DEMA’s Be A Diver Pool Tour

**Pool Earns Local Broadcast Coverage on 10 Different News Stations for the 1st Quarter of 2016**
DEMA’s most recognized diver acquisition and awareness program, the Be A Diver Pool Tour, started the new year with a splash by generating over 905,000 view impressions worth more than $256,000. In just under four months, the Pool has already traveled around the country making stops at the Mid America Boat Show in ClevelandTravel + Adventure Shows in Dallas and Washington, D.C.; the Kentucky Sportsman Show; and the Channel 8 News Outdoors Expo and Boat Show in Tampa

“Having the Be A Diver Pool at various cross-marketing consumer shows throughout the U.S. continues to be an effective tool to introduce people to scuba diving,” commented “Big Wave” Dave Reidenbach, DEMA’s Pool Tour Coordinator. “Not only does the media coverage received by the Pool provide a valuable opportunity to promote scuba diving to TV viewers, the Pool provides attendees and potential new divers with the chance to try scuba for themselves. Local dive retailers who volunteer to work the Pool at these events benefit from a unique opportunity to grow their client bases by connecting directly with potential new customers.”
The first five events of the year promoted the Be A Diver Pool and the “try diving” experience as one of the top activities for show attendees. As a result the Pool was featured on news stations WOIO-CBS, WUAB-MY43, WKYC-NBC, WFAA-ABC, KDFW-FOX, KTVT-CBS, WFIE-NBC, WEVV-44 NEWS, WTTA-WB and WFLA-NBC. All ten stations showcased reporters broadcasting from the Pool and interviewing “Big Wave” Dave to discuss the Pool Tour, safety tips on diving, and top dive spots for local diving.
The Pool will continue its tour as a top consumer show feature throughout 2016. Making stops throughout the year at various consumer-oriented travel, outdoor activity and adventure shows, the Be A Diver Pool gives anyone 10 years old and up the opportunity to discover the fun and exciting sport of scuba diving for FREE in the comfort of a large, heated Pool. Event attendees are also able to test out some of the latest scuba diving equipment and have a photo of themselves taken underwater that can act as an everlasting keepsake. Those who take the plunge need not worry about getting wet, since the Be A Diver Pool provides wetsuits, towels, hair dryers and dressing rooms.

DEMA Releases Full Detailed Analysis of U.S. Dive Center Advertising Research

DEMA has announced the release of its detailed analysis of more than 240 dive centers within the U.S. and their advertising behaviors. In order to learn more about these components of the recreational diver market, survey participants responded to "operational" questions as well as questions on advertising activities. This extensive report is FREE to current DEMA Members and available to non-Members for a fee.
